Bonsai in Africa #10

Odds and ends: These three guys are the winners of the African New Talent contest 2013. And then some views of South Africa, the gereat country that is always worth a trip. Michael Hagedorn was also in Africa. For some reason he was always in another room when he did his three demos and two workshops. Sorry Michael for not positng anything about you.

Bonsai in Africa 2013 #9

This is a wild collected African olive, Olea europea africana. In 2002 at the African Convention in Pretoria, South Africa I had a chance to work on this wild olive. Eleven years later in Johannesburg I was offered the same tree again to countinue. It was fun to see this tree evolve. The last image is a virtual to show where I see the tree in five years. It has two possible fronts and it is up to the owner, Errol Rubin, to decide which one is the best for him.
