very advanced broadleaved styling workshop #14

Arbutus unedo, strawberry tree. This is outstanding bonsai material. So far the species is not really used a lot for bonsai. But that will change, for sure.

Do can you reduce the leaf size on the strawberry tree? because i own a madrone which is from the same family of your tree and dislike those big leaves.

Sure you can reduce the leaf size., Just by being in a small pot for many years will already do a considerable part.

what do you recomend the media to be composed of for this kind of tree?

Standard modern bonsai substrate. Like for ALL trees.

what would you recommend? or what would you use in your mix?

I said it already: ANY 'modern substrate'. There is way too much discussion about soil. it sis so easy.
