The South East Bavarian Bonsai Days are held in Burghausen, which is in the very South East of Germany, right next to the Austrian border. This event is driven by a small group of highly dedicated individuals under the leadership of Werner Gieschler. As on can see from the images this is an outstanding show. South East Bavaria is an area populated by about 2 million people. For this size population I think this is and enormous success to put together such an impressive exhibit. Congratulations!

4th South East Bavarian Bonsai Days - the shohin size trees
All these are shohin size trees, meaning they are no higher than 23 cm (ten inches). The tokonomas are tiny.
