Bonsai in Colorado 2006 #1
At the beginning of November 2006 I was with Larry Jackel and we visited Jerry Morris in Denver. I was most astounded at what I found there. He has a real lot of very good collected Colorado Blue Spruce (Picea pungens). Most know this blue tree as very lage landscape tree around the moderate parts of the world. In Colorado they grow wild at pretty hig altitudes of around 18,000 feet or even higher.
So far I thouhgt that this species is not good at all for bonsai use. I have changed my mind. At Jerry's place they still are still pretty much raw material though.
